Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WordEdge (including the web application, mobile application, and API), you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years old (or 16 years old if you reside in a jurisdiction where GDPR sets a higher minimum age).
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
• You agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you are using WordEdge on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

WordEdge is a vocabulary learning application that provides:

• A daily Learn flow that introduces five new words at a time
• A daily challenge with multiple-choice quizzes and difficulty selection
• Progress tracking including words learned and accuracy statistics

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

3. User Accounts and Responsibilities

3.1 Account Creation

WordEdge uses email-based one-time password (OTP) authentication. You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your email address current and secure.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your email account, as it is the only means of authentication.
• Logging out of shared devices after use.
• Notifying us promptly at privacy@amandeep.pro if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3.3 One Account Per Person

Each person may maintain only one WordEdge account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits or abuse the service is prohibited.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, its servers, or its databases.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the service in a manner that exceeds normal usage patterns or circumvents rate limits.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of any part of the service.
• Impersonate any other user or person.
• Submit false, misleading, or harmful content, including display names that are offensive, harassing, or impersonating.
• Use the service in any way that could harm WordEdge, its infrastructure, or other users.

Violation of these acceptable use terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Content

The WordEdge application, including its design, code, word lists, definitions, quiz content, and all related materials, are owned by or licensed to Amandeep Singh. All rights are reserved. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service without our express written permission.

5.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the service (such as your display name). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and store that content for the purpose of operating the service.

5.3 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without compensation or attribution to you.

6. Termination

6.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time via the Settings page in the app, or by contacting us at privacy@amandeep.pro. Account deletion is permanent and immediately removes all your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

6.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, with or without notice. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to:

• Violation of the acceptable use policy (Section 4)
• Attempting to circumvent security measures or rate limits
• Using an offensive or impersonating display name
• Any activity that harms other users or the service

6.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the service immediately ceases. If your account is terminated for a Terms violation, you may not create a new account without our express permission.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

7.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

WordEdge is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any defects will be corrected. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content on the service.

7.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Amandeep Singh shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business, arising out of or related to your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim. Since WordEdge is currently provided free of charge, this limit may be zero.

7.3 Educational Content

Vocabulary definitions and examples provided in WordEdge are for educational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we make no guarantees regarding the correctness, currency, or completeness of any word definitions or quiz content.

8. Privacy

Your use of WordEdge is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

1. Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
2. Notify you via an in-app notice on your next login.

Continued use of WordEdge after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the service and may delete your account.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of WordEdge will be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be submitted to the appropriate court of competent jurisdiction.
